Henniges Automotive to build headquarters in Auburn Hills tech park

The Farmington Hills-based auto supplier Henniges Automotive North America Inc. is set to break ground as early as next month on a 55,000-square-foot headquarters in Auburn Hills.
The deal marks the second in the Oakland Technology Park — former Chrysler Group LLC land purchased in March 2010 by Southfield-based General Development Co.
While General Development will develop the building, Livonia-based Schostak Bros & Co. will own it and lease it to Henniges, said Randy Thomas, president of Southfield-based Insite Commercial. Ronnisch Construction’s “Saab story”
When Ronnisch Construction moves into its new Birmingham office space in a couple months it ends a saga for what has become a nomadic construction firm.
The story goes back almost a year, when company president Bernie Ronnisch was looking for a sublet tenant at the 13,000-square-foot building his firm owns at 4327 Delemere Court in Royal Oak.
It’s an interesting building, tucked back in an industrial district, and built-out by Ronnisch’s firm to be used as a showcase for its construction skills.
“It’s a beautiful building, and we didn’t need the whole thing but we didn’t want to move either,” he said. Read More »
Assist goes to the Palace
Twice in the last decade, the owner of the Palace of Auburn Hills has bought a restaurant building on Lapeer Road, found a new owner and then sold it.
As a cheap basketball analogy, they’ve come in with the assist twice after restaurateurs fouled-out.
Auburn Hills-based Palace Sports & Entertainment Inc. recently sold the 5,000-square-foot restaurant building at 2655 Lapeer Rd. (about a quarter mile south of the Palace).
Following the chain of ownership, Palace Sports bought the building in January, 2009 after a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure put it in bank-owned hands from the owners of the Rocket Family Restaurant, according to info from the CoStar Group. Read More »
